Veggie Dilema
I found a leaflet when I got home last night from a company selling organic meat.
I’ve put a blog entry on lowfatfoodstuff for the company because I thought it was a good idea.
I’m a big fan of organic farming and if you have to eat meat try and at least respect the animal.
If you cant afford free range stuff ok. But the difference between economy eggs and free range is pence not pounds so don’t use price as your barrier all the time.
Firstly I’m not a veggie, sometimes I wish I was, but then I smell a bacon sandwich all my good intentions go out the window. A roast would be one of my final meals.
A good friend of mine does not eat meat but out in restaurants he always eats fish.
When I questioned him about this slack behaviour, explaining fish is sea life. He replied as if he had been asked the question a few times before, probably by me when I have been drunk!
His answer was:
Look Restaurants only have one dish for veggies which they ironicly call the veggie choice.
Restaurants also believe because I am a veggie I like all vegetables but I don’t like some.
Their recipes are always the same and they try and make it look like meat.
Whats the answer then I asked
More choice and if more people tried a veggie alternative, they would produce more dishes.
Next time we go out we are going to a veggie restaurant, it will be interesting to see what happens.
